LifeWorks is looking for a Research Analyst to join our Strategy Department! The researchers within LifeWorks' Strategy Department oversee program evaluation, conduct research, and implement evidence-based solutions to ensure that LifeWorks offers the best programs possible to help youth achieve stable housing, maximize their economic opportunities, and increase their self-sufficiency. We are committed to continually improving our services and advancing our field through rigorous data collection, evaluation of our work, and dissemination of our findings.

The Research Analyst will work with the Strategy team and agency programs to accomplish our mission by conducting program evaluations and research projects and sharing key findings to internal and external stakeholders.  The Research Analyst is involved in an array of projects focused on transition-age youth, covering the topics of child welfare, youth homelessness, behavioral health, education/workforce development, and youth voice.

We're looking for a Research Analyst who is passionate about bridging the bidirectional knowledge gap between research and practice. We need someone who is an eager learner, enjoys working with diverse stakeholders (e.g., clients, staff, external research partners, funders), and can translate complex ideas and research findings into laymen's terms. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, leverage both quantitative and qualitative techniques to answer research questions, and have strong analytic and writing skills.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for using advanced analytic techniques (e.g., multilevel modeling, logistic regression, latent class growth analysis, hazard models, propensity score matching, return-on-investment analysis) to analyze agency data and identify programmatic implications.
  • Designs and implements process and outcome evaluations and mission-focused research projects.
  • Oversees the collection of quantitative and qualitative data and manages project timelines and deliverables.
  • Completes literature reviews and writes IRB proposals.
  • Prepares Agency reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals on an as-needed basis.
  • Recommends, develops, and delivers staff training related to research and evaluation.
  • Serves as a liaison to external evaluation partners.
  • Maintains a library of all relevant program measurement data that is up-to-date and easily accessed.
  • Supports Grants & Contracts department by completing needs assessments, developing outputs and outcomes, and providing analytic support for the preparation of proposals and reports to funding agencies.
  • Assists with the execution of a variety of high-impact special projects.
  • May present findings at national conferences in order to promote the Agency's mission and client-centric approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Psychology, Human Development & Family Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field and 2+ years of experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Psychology, Human Development & Family Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field; and 5+ years of experience.
  • Preferred experience analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Preferred advanced proficiency in select statistical packages (SAS and/or R).
